A little about me…

A dog mom to five… a loving and supportive spouse to a retired veteran… a singer, songwriter and piano player… a music lover… an avid concert goer… a lover of golf… an outdoors enthusiast… a (really) amateur photographer… and a lover of business and its development - so needless to say, I have the knack for creative thinking!

Born and raised in Newfoundland, I have lived in various places on the island, including 6 years in Labrador and then 20 years in Nova Scotia. Through those years of living on the mainland, I have travelled extensively throughout Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick. I think the Atlantic Provinces of Canada are a little slice of heaven and I am lucky to call it home - and I absolutely love living back home in Newfoundland. I have a true and deep appreciation for the lifestyle.

How this all started…

I moved back home to Newfoundland in late 2022 to help a small business that was located on the Great Northern Peninsula (aka, The Viking Trail) through a stage of transition. Once that task was complete, I found myself taking a much-needed break. In January of 2025, when I started to look for my next new adventure, I knew being located in a remote part of Newfoundland would be a challenge. I said from the very beginning, “If I can’t find something remote and meaningful to work with and represent, then I will create something of my own”. Months go by and then it dawned on me… why would I put all of my experience, creativity, efforts, focus and energy into leveraging just one large company to make it grow - when I can help so many other people - who really need it - at a mere fraction of the cost!

I’m investing into my local provinces, the small business community within it - and myself - what a concept!

I specialize in artistic digital creation and designs, functional social media management, crafty event planning and management. I have a keen eye for detail and can create beautiful ideas for print or public distribution that will help increase your event or online exposure.

I have been creating images for display since 2009 when I owned my first business. Images and advertisements of all sorts since then, mainly focused around public and private corporate events, business advertisements and employee engagement activities. As for event planning and management, I have been working in that field since 2014. I have over 30 corporate events under my belt to date - everything from AGM’s, Breakfast Briefings, Lunch & Learns, Christmas Party’s and large-scale sponsored golf tournaments. I have also spearheaded multiple domestic trade shows within Canada, including International Trade Missions to the USA, Germany and the UK. I humbly admit, I truly understand business development and social engagement.

What I see happening is this - in small towns in the Atlantic Provinces, one of the main areas of success for small businesses is the tourism industry - if a tourist wants to know what’s happening/available in an area they’re visiting, the first thing they will do is look it up online (that also goes for the local community). If you are not consistently current with your online media outlets, including your Google listing and also your Facebook business page - you are definitely missing out! What I have witnessed first-hand is the gap that small business owners have with the know-how to set it all up, plus finding the time to balance their current and up-to-date online exposure, while actually running their business day-to-day and managing their personal lives. It is tough being online and most won’t even tackle it. That’s where I come in! I created PMB Designs to help small businesses in the Atlantic Provinces. Bottom line - if you don’t think staying current online doesn’t matter for your continued success - it really does! Community engagement and rallying support is vital in the off-season - you MUST keep the momentum going year-round or you will feel that financial crunch of facing winter in the Maritimes, with little foot traffic. I have the know-how and skills to really help you and make that impactful difference!

Not only am I creative - with over twenty-five years of business development experience, I have extensive knowledge in streamlining operations, optimizing processes and leading cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals. By combining that expertise in operations management, with diverse skills in business and office administration, I actively enhance efficiency while promoting a collaborative and cohesive work environment. My core competencies include growth and engagement, team leadership, strategic planning, event management, social media management, digital creations and problem-solving. Dedicated to operational growth and success, I thrive in respectful dynamic environments where adaptability and resourcefulness drive results. Plus, I am self-directed and are very tech-savvy. A list of some of my professional development activities are listed on my website in the Services section, under the Event Management Services - go check it out!

I absolutely LOVE diving into my creativity, creating something unique, showing it to the world and then watching something flourish from it! A true labour of love and a deep desire to help. For me, I find great fulfillment in helping other people succeed.

I have been self-employed before, a few different times - and I know the struggles you all face. It’s not for the faint of heart. You can’t do it all - so let me help you. Together, we can create something wonderful!

Thank you,
